System Restore & Version History

Automatic snapshots will let you roll back any Vault entry or entire Vault to a previous state in one click.

  • One-Click Rollback

    Select any point in the timeline and hit “Restore.” MetaVect replaces the current entry with that snapshot, queues that change for sync, and logs the rollback as a new snapshot (so you can undo a restore if needed).

  • Continuous Snapshots

    Every time you save or sync an entry (note, file, tag).

    MetaVect takes a lightweight snapshot of that entry’s prior state.

  • Indexed Timeline

    Each Vault or entry view, a “History” icon opens a linear timeline of snapshots—showing date, time, and a brief diff (e.g., “Removed 120 words,” “Updated tags”).

  • Vault-Level Restore

    You can also restore an entire Vault to a previous date—great if a bulk-change or accidental clear affected dozens of entries at once.

  • Conflict-Safe

    Restores generate their own snapshots, so you never lose the option to go forward or back in time. And because it’s versioned, you can restore on one device without overwriting fresher changes on another—you choose exactly which timeline to roll back.
